K-Pop Demon Hunters Reviewed by an Autist

I have seen the most anticipated animated movie of 2025, Zootopia 2, and I thought it would've won an Oscar because of how much I liked it (that's a review for another day.) Then I heard that K-Pop Demon Hunters had won the Oscar for best animated feature film over Zootopia 2, and I had to see for myself why. When I did, the movie exceeded my moderate expectations.
First of all, Sony has done a spectacular job with the animation to the point where it's beautiful and shows fun expressions of the characters and other cool visuals. Secondly, I was impressed by the soundtrack that made recent Disney songs seem obscure. Two of my favorite songs from K-Pop Demon Hunters would have to be "Soda Pop" and "Golden" for being so catchy and flawless that they deserve to be ranked higher in the K-pop music industry.
Thirdly, the story writing shows the duality between benevolent and malevolent forces. A couple of characters, who are Rumi and Jinu, have their secret sides to hide, with Rumi secretly being a demon and Jinu hiding his past out of shame for leaving behind who he loved before. The writing struck me as the kind that understood evil in some ways better than some of the Disney movies I saw in my lifetime. As someone who saw this movie for the visuals, I'll admit the film exceeded my expectations when I saw this masterpiece for the first time.
Overall, K-Pop Demon Hunters had a well-deserved win for the Oscar over Zootopia 2, in my opinion. The movie was special more than the visuals it offered, with the soundtrack and remarkable characters. The movie would be my first favorite K-pop-themed film. I rate this movie an 8.5 out of 10.
